We liked the size of the group. Overall, we enjoyed the trip a great deal but I’m not sure we’d recommend it to others. The next 2 questions need another option: “Maybe”.

Amy, our guide in Kyoto, was absolutely fantastic. She taught us so much about Japanese architecture, clothing, food, history, and more. She was truly outstanding. William in Takayama was also excellent and very helpful. Amy and William both deserve tge “5” while the other guides were good. We appreciated the daily itineraries that Amy and at least one other guide prepared for us.

Pre-Tour Handbook

I would have appreciated getting the pre-tour documentation in a more compact format (smaller pictures) and in a Word doc format so we could cut and paste some of the info into our own itineraries
