Ideal. Allowed us to tick off everything on our list, plus a few extra things which we loved (Koya San and Himeji Castle being two really pleasant surprises that spring to mind)

Can\'t fault it, every hotel or ryokan we stayed at was comfortable, clean and in a great location.

Good to get our breakfasts at the hotels and ryokans.

Fujii was a brilliant guide for our first day in Japan. He was so friendly and helpful, and pointed out lots of interesting facts about local crafts in Tokyo which we wouldn\'t have got from a guidebook.

The pre-tour guide was really useful and the communication was good in that we always received timely responses, and we would have marked this higher only that we didn\'t receive our itinerary until 5 days prior to our departure which did cause us some anxiety. I understand that this was due to high demand for tours after covid, but it did cause us worry and we would have liked to have been able to organise our free time a little earlier and research our accommodation, but couldn\'t because we weren\'t sure of exactly the timings in each location until we got the itinerary.

Excellent apart from a slight hiccup in Hiroshima where our itinerary sent us to the wrong hotel. However, this was rectified really quickly when we called the Kyoto office and we received an apology letter and gifts and the reimbursement of our taxi fare between the two hotels which was lovely of them!

This was the part of the tour we found most invaluable. The guidance on which trains to get and directions on how to get round the stations etc removed most of the stress from our trip, and Fujii helped us to get our JR passes and reserve our seats which was a huge help.
