I was delighted with the itinerary and the organisation. I would suggest though that perhaps a day tour of Kyoto could have been included as that city was hard to negotiate, we spent hours on the buses travelling to the silver, gold, stone garden and Tenryu? And bamboo forest. A mini bus would have made it easier. Also we are very experienced travellers I think novices would be freaked out with the trains and instructions. Also I think you should let clients know that a reasonable level of fitness is required, we walked more than we walked on the Camino!
Itinerary
Lodging
Loved the Hakone and Koko San lodging. Kyoto ibis was well located but a bit stark. My own choice of Benesse house in Naoshima was fantastic, beautifully situated with a superb view.
Food
Loved the Japanese breakfasts and the Japanese buffet at Hakone was excellent , a great way to experiment with Japanese food
Guides
Our guide on the first day was excellent, friendly and informative. She explained the intricacies of Tokyo transport very well, lunch was great too.
Pre-Tour Handbook
Comprehensive but very daunting, I was overwhelmed with the instructions and quite nervous but in reality it was very useful
